District Prevention and Security Councils
The city's districts make this territorial body available to local residents. It enables them to participate, discuss and show their commitment to peaceful coexistence in Barcelona's neighbourhoods.
The working criteria are proximity, transparency of information and consensus in public security and prevention policies, in an environment that is accessible to city residents.
The District Prevention and Security Councils must expect and guarantee the presence and active participation of neighbourhood organisations and local residents, as well as representatives from other District Participation Councils, especially Women, Gender and LGTBI Councils and Senior Citizen Councils.
The Councils are under the responsibility of each district, as they are territorial participation bodies, and therefore, each of them has their own way of working, frequency and composition.
