Local Security Board
The Local Security Board, chaired by the Mayor, is where the security forces and bodies that operate in the city of Barcelona meet, together with the judiciary and the Prosecutor's Office, as well as other municipal authorities and technical specialist personnel. It deals with issues that are relevant to Barcelona's security. It is the collegiate body that coordinates and manages public safety and prevention in our city in order to make decisions based on the information and knowledge provided by its members.
It meets twice a year: in January/February and June/July.
The Local Security Board is made up of:
- The Mayor of Barcelona
- The Generalitat de Catalunya's territorial delegate for Barcelona
- The Commander-in-Chief of the National Police Force in Catalonia
- The Director General of the Generalitat de Catalunya's police force
- The Colonel in command of the Guàrdia Civil in Barcelona
- The Assistant Director General for the Coordination of the Local Police Forces of Catalonia
- The Generalitat de Catalunya's Director General of Security Administration
- The Chief Commissioner of the Barcelona Metropolitan Police Region of the Generalitat de Catalunya
- The Prevention and Security Manager of Barcelona City Council
- The Chief of Barcelona's Guàrdia Urbana [city] police force
- The Director of Barcelona City Council's Prevention Services
- The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office for the Province of Barcelona
- The Chief Justice of Barcelona
