The event is being held at the Association of Civil Engineers on 14 January 2026 under the title “Communicating to protect: the role of the message in road safety”.

Road safety is not just a matter of regulations and infrastructures, but more than anything a collective construction of awareness. Every message given, from an advertising campaign to a classroom conversation, has the power to shape attitudes, generate responsibility and ultimately save lives.

Communication also plays a crucial role after an accident happens: in terms of coordination between the various safety and emergency corps involved, and also how the message is given to victims and relatives.

The 31st Barcelona Road Safety Forum is an invitation to think beyond the message as mere information. It is a space for reflection on how communication constructs road safety culture, educates generations, coordinates responses from safety and emergency corps an provides support in vulnerability.
