Over 70% of Barcelona residents see tourism as beneficial to the city
Tourism. Now that the Covid-19 pandemic is over and tourism has returned to Barcelona, city residents’ opinions of it are similar to those expressed in 2019, according to the 2023 perception survey.
Public perception of tourism improves
Tourism. Some 70.9% of local people believe tourism benefits the city, but the figure for those who feel it is harmful for the city is also up, from 17.3% to 23%.
Park Güell gains more public uses
Urban planning and infrastructures. The number of Barcelona residents accessing the park with local resident cards is up by 37%.
Growth in the economic return from tourism in the city
