The Families' corner offers information related with the world of the childhood: pregnancy, breast-feeding, raising children, children's nutrition, games and entertainment for all children, among other things. It is targeted at parents, guardians, educators and people who look after children.
Barcelona's libraries also offer activities for advising parents on reading to their children and introducing the very young to the world of books:
First steps (aged 6 months to 3 years) A project aimed at familiarising newborns with the world of books starting from the first year of life. It is carried out through various highly sensory activities inviting participants to look, touch and listen: visual shows, music concerts and workshop stories.
Contes a mà (aged 2 to 4 years) Storytelling for the very young, a short while to talk about books with the family. The activity is accompanied by a display of books on the subject of the narrated story.
