This guide invites you to explore the city through the books that portray it. It offers a deep immersion in literary Barcelona, introducing you to the emblematic places and spaces that have inspired famous writers and have appeared in their works.

Here you will find more than a thousand scenarios related to the world of literature to visit at your leisure. The routes allow you to follow the footsteps of iconic characters and discover the scenes that have given life to great stories. From the vibrant pages of the Raval to the charming corners of the Eixample, Barcelona reveals itself as an open book full of fascinating narratives.

With the Literary Map you can organise your own itineraries. But if you accept suggestions, you can then choose to do one of the new routes proposed on the Barcelona Ciutat de la Literatura website. These are easy to do on foot and you won’t need more than a day to complete them. On the map you will find a brief explanation of the routes, as well as a downloadable PDF document with a selection of texts associated with the routes.
