A campaign to encourage the reuse of duplicate books in the MMB Library

In the Library of the Maritime Museum of Barcelona (MMB) there are many books of which, for whatever reason, there are several copies. To promote these duplicate books and at the same time help a good cause, the MMB has launched the campaign Un gest, un llibre (A gesture, a book): anyone who wishes to can take home a copy in exchange for a voluntary donation. All the money raised will go to the language reception projects of the Fundació Servei Solidari, an institution in the Raval district that works to promote autonomy and full citizenship of young people and adults at risk of social exclusion through education and entrepreneurship.

The books can be found in the MMB lobby, and donations can be placed in a mailbox or made through Bizum. Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the campaign will be open until December 30, 2022.
