Economic Response Coordination Centre (CECORE)
In 2020, Barcelona City Council set up the Economic Response Coordination Centre (CECORE). The aim of CECORE is to monitor the economic situation in the city of Barcelona and offer forecasts that enable better decision-making, follow the municipal budget situation and develop response initiatives to activate the economy and coordinate municipal actions with the rest of the city's economic and social agents while establishing alliances with other administrations.
CECORE, created expressly in response to Covid-19 to help with Barcelona's economic reactivation, is structured into 2 broad areas, with a group of budgets and a group of specific activation measures for eight economic areas:
- Businesses, the self-employed and entrepreneurs
- Tourism and Creative Industries
- Markets, retail, hospitality and consumption
- Social and Solidarity Economy
- City and brand promotion
- Quality employment
