A FLIC to (re)interpret the world
The children's and young people's literature and arts festival presents 25 family proposals over the course of a weekend at Disseny Hub Barcelona.
Highlighting the value of traditional literary heritage through versions is one of the objectives of FLIC this 2023. The festival of literature and arts for children and young people will offer its activities for the whole family on the weekend of 11 and 12 March at Disseny Hub Barcelona. It will be the 13th edition of an event that last year had almost 10,000 attendees and this year’s theme is “(Re)interpreting the world“.
Tantàgora Serveis Culturals, organiser of the festival, explains: “Between tradition and contemporaneity there is a two-way road that we constantly travel on the horse of (re)interpretation. We do it out of necessity, intuitively convinced that changes are needed to reconnect the heritage with (new) ways of doing, of thinking”. The 25 activities planned, therefore, are along these lines, and are divided into four groups: “Fliquets”, for the youngest members of the family (children from 6 months to 5 years old); “Literary experiences”, for children from 6 years old, where they can draw, build, take photographs and read; workshops for children from 8 years old, and finally workshops for children from 10 years old. The workshops will include, for example, delving into the world of stop motion with the illustrator and filmmaker Pere Ginard, or learning how to make a sheet of string, one of the most common formats for romanceros, with the illustrator Concha Pasamar.
At FLIC you will also find, with free access, a storytelling space for the whole family, called “Once upon a time…”, and a library, organised by Biblioteques de Barcelona, where you can borrow books, as long as you have a library card.
FLIC is supported, among others, by the Institute of Culture of Barcelona City Council. All the information in this link.
