Publishing Scotland launches its 2024 International Publishing Fellowship Programme
Interested publishers are invited to submit their application until 31 January 2024.
Publishing Scotland’s international grants programme aims to foster relationships between the international publishing community and its Scottish counterparts, and to facilitate the purchase and sale of rights. The 2024 edition will take place one week in August, coinciding with the Edinburgh International Book Festival and the famous Edinburgh Festival and Fringe. There will be meetings, market presentations, networking, visits from publishers and agents and much more. That’s why Publishing Scotland is inviting interested publishers to submit their applications. They can do so until 31 January 2024, and of all the applications received, eight will be awarded grants.
Partly funded by Creative Scotland, the grant celebrated its seventh successful year in the summer of 2023 and has so far brought together 62 publishers from 20 different countries. It all started in 2015, when this new publishing grants programme was established. Eight international publishers were invited to come to Scotland for a week in August to meet Scottish publishers and agents and to visit the Edinburgh International Book Festival.
