The Atlas of Translation and Literature, an interactive map in constant growth
Events, residencies, fairs, awards, congresses and programmes are geolocated there.
The International Federation of Translators (FIT), the Associació Professional de Traductors i Intèrprets de Catalunya (APTIC) and the Editorial Translation and Copyright Comission of the FIT, in collaboration with the European Council of Literary Translators’ Associations (CEATL), the UNESCO Network of Cities of Literature and the Institut Ramon Llull, are developing a new tool called Atlas of Translation and Literature (ATL).
The project consists of an interactive world map on which events, residencies, fairs, prizes, congresses and programmes related to translation and literature that are relevant to professionals in the sector are geolocated. The aim of the map is not to describe the events in detail or to provide exhaustive information, but to locate them geographically so that the professional seeking information can obtain an overview at a glance and can access more detailed information at a later date.
The organisations developing the project are calling for public collaboration to help the Atlas grow. To this end, they have set up a form and are asking organisations and associations that organise events in the field of translation and literature to fill it in. The events can range from translation awards to literature fairs, regular congresses, residencies for authors and translators, festivals, training courses aimed at the sector, etc.
