Applications can be sent to the organisation until first of July.

Vilnius, in Lithuania, one of the latest towns to join the UNESCO Cities of Literature Network, is launching a call for applications for a four-week literary residency in its arts district, Užupis.

The call, open until 1 July, is aimed at writers, illustrators and literary translators from all over the world. The residency will be held in autumn. The organisation will cover travel expenses, provide accommodation, and a grant of €500 will be awarded to residents. They will be asked to participate in two meetings with the local community.

Applicants must be from a city in the UNESCO Cities of Literature Network or have a demonstrable connection. They must send a brief letter of motivation, as well as a biography and bibliography. This should be sent to marija@vilniusliterature.lt.
