Open the call for the Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award 2025

This international award accepts novels published in any language and created by living authors.

Bucheon, designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Literature, has opened its doors for nominations for the Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award 2025, an initiative that seeks to recognise and value works that address the theme of diaspora. This international award is open to full-length novels published in any language and created by living authors.

The prize is a one-time award of KRW 60 million (approximately €42,000), making it one of the most important awards in the global literary field for experiences of migration, identity and displacement. The aim of the competition is to showcase stories that reflect the richness and complexity of the phenomenon of diaspora, contributing to a better global understanding of cultural diversity and human connection.

Participants can be nominated through third parties or institutions. The deadline for submitting nominations is 13 December 2024. Nominations must be sent through the official website of the award, where you can also consult the forms and requirements.
