Literature and music come together in a new festival

On 21, 22 and 23 February 2025 Barcelona will be hosting a new event: the Book Music Festival. Fabra i Coats: Fàbrica de Creació will be one of the central spaces of this event dedicated to exploring the connections between music and literature. The programme will include a fair of new and used musical books, presentations, debates, concerts and parallel activities for professionals and the general public.

The literary fair, which will take place on 22 and 23 February at Fabra, will bring together 40 publishers, 10 bookshops and 25 stands, offering a space in which to discover new and classic works of the genre. At the same time, the Ignasi Iglésias library will host debates and round tables that will delve into issues such as the translation of musical works into Catalan or the opportunities of music journalism.

The programme will include live performances by Joana Serrat, Koko-Jean & The Tonics and Grabú Live!, as well as DJs. In addition, two prizes will be awarded: the Live Music Photo Award, with an exhibition and photographic material as a reward, and the Young Music Short Story Award, which aims to encourage literary creation among young people.

The Book Music Festival, which will be officially inaugurated on 21 February at the Ona Llibres bookshop, is presented as a project with international ambitions. According to the organisers, the initiative aims to consolidate itself as a meeting place for professionals from the cultural sector and at the same time connect the public with a proposal that combines literature, music and the cultural industry.
