AIR Literature Västra Götaland calls for applications for literary residencies

If you are a writer or literary translator, and you are looking for a quiet work environment and new inspiration, this information may be of interest to you. AIR Literature Västra Götaland, a residency programme run by the Cultural Administration Region Västra Götaland, Sweden, announces 15 one-month residency grants for November 2024. The application period is open until 23 April.

In 2024, applications will be particularly welcome from authors and translators active in the UNESCO network for creative cities in the field of literature, including Barcelona, as well as from authors and translators active in the national minorities and minority languages of Sweden.

The residence grant includes one month’s free accommodation and access to a job. The grant is 20,000 SEK (about 1,720 €). For residency grants in which the host is a library or an independent actor in the cultural field, a writer’s fee of SEK 8,500 (about €730) is also included for a public event to be organised during the residency, in coordination with the host.
