Call for applications for a literary residency in Taiwan

It is organised by the country's National Museum of Literature and the deadline for entries is 15 May.

The National Museum of Literature of Taiwan (NMTL) has opened a call for applications for a literary residency in Taiwan. If you are interested in applying, please note that you must be over 18 years old, have some published work, and know English or one of the languages spoken in Taiwan. Applications must be submitted by 15 May.

The call is open to both fiction and non-fiction authors and to novelists, poets, essayists, translators, etc. The application must describe the project to be developed during the residency. Once there, the organisation asks the author to take part in a literary event every weekend. At the end of the stay, the resident will have five days to write a final evaluation report on the stay. The residency can last between 7 and 30 days, between 1 August 2024 and 31 July 2025, and will be held at the Taiwan Literature Base campus.

The organisation also establishes that the selected candidates must participate and cooperate in promotional activities related to NMTL, as well as agree to be interviewed and filmed for documentary films related to their residency activities.
