Curiosity as a driving force for progress in the city
The Auditorium of Barcelona Activa's head office will host the presentation of this book by Alfons Cornella and Carlota Rubio on 8 April at 7 p.m. with portraits and conversations with around a hundred people.
The book Barcelona Means Curiosity, published by Barcelona City Council as part of the collection “Barcelona Present and Future”, is authored by Alfons Cornella and Carlota Rubio and emerges from the conviction that the Catalan capital has been fortunate to have, throughout its history, people who have been curious in many disciplines (art, science, music, business, entrepreneurship, education, etc.) and that it has been, and is, this curiosity of its people that drives the city. ) and it is this curiosity of its people that has been, and is, the driving force behind the city.
The volume is a collection of portraits and conversations with fifty people, projects and spaces in the city that have curiosity as a common denominator and that represent the talent and the driving force of Barcelona. The presentation will take place on Monday, 8 April, at 7 p.m., at the Auditorium of Barcelona Activa’s head office (Llacuna, 156-162). It will be attended by the author and the author and also by Pilar Conesa, president of Anteverti and curator of the collection “Barcelona Present and Future”. The presentation will also include a “curious conversation” with several of the book’s interviewees.
The synopsis reads: “Curiosity is the basic energy of the city. It is this curiosity-friendly environment that now attracts people from all over the world, with very different abilities, who contribute their energy to propel the future and progress of the city.
