Ideal announces an immersive exhibition on literature and science with Jules Verne as the protagonist
It will be produced by the Catalan audiovisual content creation studio Layers of Reality and will open on 19 September.
Jules Verne 200 is the name of the immersive exhibition that will open in September at Ideal, Centre d’Arts Digital, an exhibition by the Layers of Reality studio, which will occupy seven rooms with the latest generation technology. According to Ideal, this will be “the first great immersive experience on literature and science that pays tribute to this great author, his biography and his most emblematic works”. Tickets can already be purchased.
The exhibition will combine large-format projections with the latest virtual reality technologies to transport visitors to Verne’s fantastic worlds. The immersive room, where a 3D film will be shown, will incorporate a new dome for the occasion. The “MetaVerne” will offer a virtual reality experience, taking visitors on a journey through the spaces of the French writer’s five most popular novels: Journey to the Centre of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Around the World in 80 Days, Robur the Conqueror and From Earth to the Moon. And the area called “Biographical Pages” will allow us, for the first time, to experience the biographical episodes of the unknown life of Jules Verne, through a film that traces his early years in Nantes, his youth in Paris, and his maturity in the quiet city of Amiens.
Ideal announces that, after showing it in Barcelona, the exhibition can be visited in different cities around the world until it arrives in Paris in 2028, coinciding with the bicentenary of Verne’s birth.
