Literal, the radical ideas and books fair, opens inscriptions for its 10th edition

There are already dates for the 10th edition of Literal, the radical ideas and books fair. It will take place on the weekend of 25 and 26 May 2024, and will be held at the Fabra i Coats exhibition centre. In addition, the professional space of the fair will be held on the 24th and 25th.

The organisation has announced that the registration period is now open for independent publishers and bookshops that wish to participate. The fair is open to those publishers and bookshops that have a large part of their catalogue specialising in critical thinking. Those that are part of publishing groups, large supermarkets or chains are excluded. Once registration is closed, the Literal organising committee will decide on the applications and will inform the applicant publishers and bookshops individually if they have been accepted. The registration period will close on 14 January. It is expected that around a hundred publishers will take part in the book market and that the programme will include around fifty activities.

Literal is promoted by the Social and Solidarity Economy, and is a fair that aims, in the words of the organisation, “to bring the general public closer to the culture that is made from the margins and thus make these other centres of cultural production visible”.
