Give books about Barcelona for Christmas!

As we all know, Christmas is the time of the year when most presents are given. And a good book is always an excellent present. Barcelona City Council has published or co-published many of them in the last few weeks of 2023, all of them, in one way or another, related to the city. You’ll find books on history, photography, biographies of personalities, cinema, architecture, flora and fauna, books aimed at the youngest members of the family… In short, books for all tastes and ages. So we invite you to take a look at our latest publications, and we’re sure you’ll like more than one of them!

To name but a few, we can mention Barcelona esgrafiada, a work by Lluís Duran that invites the reader to go for a walk to discover the architecture and over 150 graffities that decorate the façades of the city. Els cinemes de la meva vida, by Carlos Mir, is a journey through the city in the fifties, sixties and seventies through its cinemas, many of which have now disappeared. Carnet de Voyage: estimada Collserola is an illustrated journey through the green heart of Barcelona through the drawings of Raúl Deamo. Or La Barcelona de Pilar Aymerich, as the title suggests, covers the photographer’s main work in the city, selected by her, with previously unpublished photos and memorial texts that give it an emotional and historical context.
