Literary residency in Sweden for authors and translators

They will take place in November 2023 and if you want to be eligible, you must submit your application before April 16.

AIR Literature Västra Götaland is calling for literary residency grants for active authors and translators who are linked to the UNESCO Cities of Literature network. The organisation calls for “authors and translators looking for peace of mind and new inspiration”, and the grant is a month’s free accommodation and access to a workspace, plus SEK 20,000. Residency grants, when the host is a library or an independent cultural actor, also include an author fee of SEK 7,500 for a public participation organised during the stay.

Once the stay has ended, both the visiting author and the host must hand in a short report of the residence, where they must explain the work done, what type of public event has been organised, how many people have participated, etc. The program offers a total of fifteen residency grants, all in November 2023, and in eleven different locations in the Västra Götaland region. When sending the application –there is time to do so until April 16– you must indicate the first three preferences for a place of residence out of the eleven listed.

You will find all the details of the call in this link.
