Sant Jordi rides from end to end of Les Rambles
The emblematic walkway will once again be the central axis of the celebration, with 94 stops.
From Canaletes to Santa Mònica, 23 April, Sant Jordi‘s Day, will be full of book stalls, roses and also neighbourhood organisations. This is an image that has not been seen since before the pandemic. Last year a large part of les Rambles had the atmosphere of this day, but it will not be until Sant Jordi’ day this year that it will be fully recovered. This was announced by the Cambra del Llibre de Catalunya and the Gremi de Llibreters, at a presentation of the Sant Jordi events at which the Councillor of Culture of the Generalitat, Natàlia Garriga, and the Councillor for Culture and Creative Industries of Barcelona City Council, Xavier Marsé, also spoke.
The greater presence of stops on the Rambles is not to the detriment of other areas. Quite the contrary. Once again there will be a literary “superilla”, between Diagonal, Gran Via, Carrer de Balmes and Carrer de Pau Claris; citizens will once again be able to stroll through a large area of the Eixample district that has been cut off from traffic. And all the city’s districts will have places reserved for the sale of books and roses. Shops will be able to set up their stalls on the street from 22 April.
These will be the locations where books and roses will be sold:
–Ciutat Vella: la Rambla, Plaça Reial and Passeig de Lluís Companys.
–L’Eixample: Plaça de Catalunya, Plaça de la Universitat, Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Sant Joan (between Plaça de Tetuan and Arc de Triomf).
–Sants-Montjuïc: Rambla de Sants.
–Les Corts: Avinguda de la Diagonal (between Joan Güell and Pau Romeva streets, seaward side).
