Eight weeks of literary residence at Wonju

Wonju UNESCO City of Literature is calling for authors from another UNESCO City of Literature, such as Barcelona, or those with close ties to one of them, to take up a literary residency in this South Korean city. If you meet the requirements and wish to apply, you have time to send your application to wonjucityoflit@korea.kr until 31 May.

The stay will be at the Toji Cultural Centre between 1 September and 31 October 2024. You must have a minimum level of B2 in English, and send a document introducing yourself and explaining why you want to do the residency. The organisation explains: “We want you to relax and dedicate yourself to your creative activity comfortably, in the peaceful surroundings of the Toji Cultural Centre. Different Korean writers and artists will stay at the centre for the same period, between 16 and 19. Like all other writers and artists, the selected resident must follow the rules of life established at the Toji Cultural Centre”.

In addition to accommodation, the also offer return flight tickets, transport on arrival and departure dates and organic meals.

The resolution of the call for applications will be announced before 27 June.
