‘Writer in the Park’, the literary residence in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature since 2015, offers two one-month residencies for writers at the Švicarija/Swisshouse Creative Centre, part of the International Centre for Graphic Arts. The residency is aimed at writers with a real and tangible connection to any of the other UNESCO cities of literature, such as Barcelona.

The applicants must have published at least one book of fiction (prose, poetry or drama) in their own language. Each resident will receive a total grant and travel expenses of €1,250 gross. They will be accommodated in their own independent, fully equipped apartment with a kitchenette in Švicarija. Local public transport costs will be covered, including transfer to the airport. Internet access will be provided. Through specific activities and networking opportunities, adapted to the profile of each resident, the organizers will help them to get to know the artistic and literary scene in Ljubljana. During the resident’s stay, some group activities can be programmed, such as meetings with the organizer, publishers, etc.

The resident is required to show interest and participate in local literary events and other related activities, which will be coordinated in accordance with other local events.
