The Social and Solidarity Economy is a set of formal or informal socio-economic measures, which may be individual or collective, that put satisfying people's needs before profit.
Barcelona City Council is committed to the SSE for the well-being of its citizens and also as a way of reviving and strengthening the economy for life in the city. It does so through public policies that set out the city's roadmap for the next 10 years.
The Barcelona 2030 Social and Solidarity Economy Strategy is the result of collaboration between Barcelona's SSE community and municipal SSE policies, and their hard work and commitment.
The PIESS 2021-2023 follows and adapts the roadmap set out by the #ESSBCN2030 STRATEGY while identifying, prioritising and applying the actions with the most impact on municipal public policy. Approximately €21.8 million will be allocated to it during the three years it will be in force.
