Establishments in the Area with a High Influx of Tourists (ZGAT) can now open on Sundays and public holidays
Commercial establishments that fall within the Area with a High Influx of Tourists (ZGAT) can open their doors on Sundays between 15 May and 15 September, and also on public holidays. They will be able to open from 12 noon to 8 pm, as provided for in the agreement to extend the boundaries and business opening days of the ZGAT in the city of Barcelona, the approval of which was also accompanied by a social agreement.
The regulation covers the business included in zones 1 and 2 of the Special Urban Plan for the Regulation of Tourist Accommodation (PEUAT), which includes the following neighbourhoods:
- Ciutat Vella: El Raval, El Gòtic, Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i La Ribera and La Barceloneta.
- Eixample: Nova Esquerra de l’Eixample, l’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample, Dreta de l’Eixample, La Sagrada Família, Fort Pienc and Sant Antoni.
- Sants-Montjuïc: Sants, Hostafrancs, and part of the neighbourhoods of Poble Sec and Font de la Guatlla.
- Les Corts: Les Corts.
- Sarrià-Sant Gervasi: Sant Gervasi-Galvany and part of the neighbourhood of El Putxet i el Farró.
- Gràcia: Vila de Gràcia, La Salut, Camp d’en Grassot, Gràcia Nova and part of Vallcarca i els Penitents.
- Horta-Guinardó: Baix Guinardó.
- Sant Martí: the Olympic Village of Poblenou, El Poblenou, Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, and Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim del Poblenou.

This new regulation, which will remain in force until 31 December 2025, is the result of the agreement reached by the Fundació Barcelona Comerç, Barcelona Oberta, PIMEC Comerç, Foment del Treball, theAssociació Nacional de Grans Empreses de Distribució (ANGED), the UGT and CCOO in February 2022 which was accepted by’Barcelona City Council and approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
