On Thursday 27 April at 6 pm, as part of the cycle “Our Bodies are Battlefields”, a discussion on the book “Cuando el Estado es violento. Narrativas de violencia contra las mujeres y disidencias sexuales" (Bellaterra, 2022).
When an organ becomes sick or part of the body is injured, the rest of the organism reacts, mobilises and adapts to give it support and mitigate the pain. In the same way that a fever is a defensive response to an attack, anger also activates the possibilities of confronting violence.
In this discussion about the book Cuando el Estado es violento. Narrativas de violencia contra las mujeres y disidencias sexuales (Bellaterra, 2022) Marta Cabezas Fernández, teacher and researcher focusing on gender, radical law, violence and human rights; Ana Martínez Pérez, teacher and researcher on the analysis of public policy on health and education, and Saida García Asuso, transfeminist activist, fat, lesbian and precarious, vice-chair of EUFORIA Familias Trans Aliadas, will be sharing and exchanging collective defence tactics.
