The Barcelona LGBTI Centre offers free specialised, confidential services for trans people

Today, the Barcelona LGBTI Centre is commemorating the International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day that aims to raise awareness of the realities of transgender people and the discrimination they suffer all over the world.

The facility offers free confidential, specialised services for trans people, including the following:

-Information and advocacy

If you need information about resources, activities or organisations aimed at trans people, or have any questions or requests about sexual, affective or gender diversity, you can consult the Centre’s information and outreach team.

You’ll find us at C. Comte Borrell 22, by calling +44 93 880 51 11, or by emailing info@centrelgtbibcn.org. You can also ask for an appointment for the shelter service or specialised services.

-Reception service

An initial consultation service aimed at identifying people’s specific needs, providing advice and support, and referring them to other services if necessary.

-Specialised psychological support for transgender people

Advice and psychological support services are offered to meet the specific needs of transgender people.

-Legal advice

If you’re unsure about legal procedures, such as changing your name or gender in the registry, you can make an appointment to get legal advice.

-Trans and non-binary group

This is a peer-led support space for trans and non-binary people who are exploring their gender. It’s a safe space, based on mutual support, where you can reflect on sexual and gender diversity, explore your own transgender transition and follow and support other transitioning processes.

An intergenerational space for meeting others to share life experiences, doubts, and experiences of the transgender transition process and the challenges it presents.

It’s a space where you can both gain greater insight yourself, and enrich other people’s perspectives, always taking a non-judgemental stance.

A space to build ties, create a network and offer mutual support.

The Trans and non-binary group meets from 6 pm to 8 pm on the third Tuesday of each month at the Barcelona LGBTI Centre (C. Comte Borrell, 22).

As the number of places are limited, and there are a lot of people who want to take part, it’s essential to register for each meeting by sending an email to inscripcions@centrelgtbibcn.org.

Whether you’re participating for the first time, or you’ve been here before, we offer you the warmest of welcomes.

-Armand de Fluvià Casal Lambda Documentation Centre
We’d also like to remind you that the Barcelona LGBTI Centre is home to the Armand de Fluvià Casal Lambda Documentation Centre, where you’ll find a broad range of books, documents, guides and other materials on the trans community available for reference.
