The City Police and the Barcelona Fire Service too part in the wreath-laying at the monument to Rafael Casanova on 11 September, part of the institutional ceremonies in the city to mark Catalan National Day.
Participating in the wreath-laying was the Deputy Mayor for Security, Prevention and Coexistence, Albert Batlle, along with the manager for the Area and the respective chiefs of the two corps. During the ceremony, a crown of laurel was laid as a sign of respect and memory for the historical figure of Rafael Casanova.
The ceremony was held this morning, at the junction between C/ Alí Bei and Ronda Sant Pere, a meeting point for numerous organisations and institutions who also pay homage on this commemorative day.
The wreath-laying by the City Police and the Barcelona Fire Service forms part of the institutional acts that commemorate Catalan National Day every 11 September.
