Ideas for commemorating 8 March from the perspective of lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex women.

To commemorate 8 March from the perspective of lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex women, we invite you to explore the video archive of the LGBTI Centre’s YouTube channel, where you’ll find a range of ideas for round tables and book presentations to discuss different feminist issues in greater depth.

Here you have just a few:

Readings

“La rebelión de las hienas. Relatos corporales de personas intersex” by Mer Gómez. An autobiographical journey that looks at the rebellion of bodies that were branded as impossible. The bodies that shatter the binary norm. The bodies that dynamite gender mandates and medical conventions.

The book was presented on 16 February at the LGBTI Centre in Barcelona as part of the new programme of activities “Our Bodies are Battlefields”

Round tables

-”Discourses of gender and sexuality”: Debate about what queer theories can contribute to the subject of feminisms, as part of the Centre’s 2020 Annual Conference: Discourses of gender and sexuality. What can queer theories contribute to the subject of feminism?

  • The round tables at the LGBTI Centre’s 2021 Annual Conference, “Memòria s’escriu en femení” [Memory is Written by Women] which aim to pay tribute to feminist experiences and the struggles of women, lesbians and transgender people for the rights of the LGBTIQA+ collective.
