Uses of Time

Develop actions, strategies or activities in nursery schools related to community action in order to create opportunities for families to meet and to build a network of community ties that facilitates access to information and resources and prevents child-rearing in isolation.

The objectives of the measure are to schedule community and cultural activities open to the neighbourhood for early childhood and their families, as well as to facilitate the cession of indoor and outdoor spaces of nursery school facilities to groups, associations and social entities. The use of other public facilities and services to develop activities and programs specifically aimed at young children is also contemplated.

Likewise, the aim is to promote and strengthen early childhood networks in all districts, including educational, health and social public services, and to expand support for the family associations in the EBM.

Some initiatives have been developed at the request and with the support of IMEB, while others have emerged bottom-up, at the request of families or the educational teams of the schools.

• Improvement of quality leisure and equity in educational and recreational activities.
• Improvement of accessibility to municipal services.
• Reduction of unwanted loneliness and/or strengthening of social support networks.
• Promotion of social and cultural participation.
