Uses of Time

On 18 December 2024, the General Subsidy Call was published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB). Its aim is to support district and city projects, activities, and services that promote and improve social cohesion, inclusion and diversity, participation and community action, cooperation, sustainability, the fight against climate change, citizens' rights, gender equality, and equality regardless of social class, age, national and/or ethnic origin, religion, functional diversity, sexual orientation, and gender identity, among others.

This call encompasses a total of 24 different areas, and within the thematic scope of Time Use, it includes activities aimed at promoting actions linked to the objectives of the Time Pact: to promote actions for a healthier, more equal, efficient, and sustainable organization of time in order to build a Barcelona where time is a shared resource for all.

The actions may include:

a) Impact on the internal organization of work time for organizations, related to flexibility, reduction or compression of hours, teleworking, facilitating care and shared responsibility, among others.
b) Impact on services or products aimed at users, clients, or other people connected to the entity, to facilitate their access regarding time use.
c) Training or awareness-raising activities directed at citizens – children and young people, families, older adults, etc. – or other entities in the city, to promote the harmonization of different life schedules, shared responsibility, and awareness of good time management.
d) Conducting or disseminating research to promote the harmonization of different life schedules and more equal, sustainable, resilient, and healthy time management.
e) Development of new methodologies or data exploitation systems that contribute to a better understanding of phenomena related to time use and organization and their impacts.
f) Other actions related to the pillars of the Time Pact: time and care, time and participation, time and public services, time and sustainability, time and education, time and health, and time and the working world.

The deadline for submitting applications is from January 9 to January 29, 2025 (both inclusive), and they must be submitted through the Virtual Office of Procedures (In Catalan)

It should be noted that the same entity cannot submit more than two projects in the Time Use area, and the subsidy amount granted will not exceed 50% of the total project cost, according to the budget presented in the application.

The budget allocated for the Time Use area is 55.000 euros, of which a maximum of 8.000 euros will be allocated per subsidized project.
