Uses of Time

This measure aims to include childcare services in a generalised manner in the participatory activities and processes of Barcelona City Council, to make it easier for citizens to participate or make use of them, as the case may be, through a childcare service management protocol.

This recommendation has been included in the document implementing the Regulations on Participation in the functioning and composition of neighbourhood councils. The document has been presented to all districts of Barcelona so that its guidelines can be incorporated into the dynamics of the neighbourhood councils.

The service is offered in participatory city processes, and the districts offer it to neighbourhood councils, audiences or processes (some districts have a budget to implement this service and others for inclusion).

The service has been incorporated into major participatory processes in the city, such as the 2023-2027 Municipal Action Programme, the Youth Forum (2021) and the Climate Assembly (2022).
