Uses of Time

Questions have been included to assess the division of work according to gender and the time dedicated to physical activity and sleep both in the FRESC and in the Barcelona Health Survey (ESB by its initials in Catalan). 

In FRESC, questions on physical activity, rest, mobile phone and screen time have been added.

The Health and Work Observatory wrote up a report with time-related indicators: in the paid part, the proportion of part-time contracts; in the unpaid part, hours of sleep. 

The ESB included questions on paid working hours, desired paid working hours, time spent doing domestic work in the home, time spent doing care work in the home and time spent doing care work for loved ones outside the home. Questions on time dedicated to physical activity and sleeping were also incorporated.

It is hoped that the results will gradually be published in publications following the inclusion of this information.
