Quantitative approach to the perception of time distress and time poverty in relation to caregiving.
The introduction of gender-relevant questions in the Municipal Omnibus Survey (in the December edition of each year) dates back to 2017, when questions on the valuation and dedication of care work were included for the first time. In 2022, others related to the digital divide and time distress were added. And in 2024, a comprehensive review of all questions was carried out, and two new ones were added: one related to care and the other to time poverty.
From 2025 onwards, the results of all questions will be analysed in a single report: ‘Gender report of the Municipal Omnibus Survey: care, time poverty and the gender digital divide’.
The measure aims to generate knowledge about time poverty and time anxiety among the citizens of Barcelona, with a focus on the gender inequalities that arise.
Time Impacts:
- Promoting awareness and knowledge about the uses of time.
