Acció contra la Violència Domèstica
Action against Domestic Violence is a non-profit association set up in Nou Barris, Barcelona, in 1999 with its Can Baste Civic Centre. Although this organisation was originally created to provide support to women who are victims of gender violence, it now also attends to and provides support to possible victims of domestic violence, as well as victims of gender-based abuse and harassment in any setting (work, school, family, community...).
The association works to raise awareness and prevent family and gender violence through talks, conferences, video-forums and workshops for women and the general public.
Although they work mainly in the Nou Barris district, they also collaborate with the actions that are promoted in the rest of the city of Barcelona, and are part of the Unitary Platform against gender violence and the Women's Council of the city of Barcelona.
