The Center for Sociological Studies on Daily Life and Work (QUIT) has been guiding its activities for more than three decades to promote, execute and disseminate research in the field of work and daily life. In this context, one of the six main lines of research is the one named “Times, work and daily life” in which the use and management of time is analysed in different areas, mainly, between the times of productive and non-productive work, together with the use of social times and their adaptation to personal times, with special attention to social inequalities, welfare and public policies from a gender perspective.
The research on the topics of time use is based on a type of research that is also interested in the intervention and application of general knowledge, since as a research group it is understood that it also responds to the problems of society. Therefore, in addition to the set of publications in scientific and specialized journals, efforts are dedicated to disseminating the results of the investigations to the entire society.
