Barcelona participates in the 41st edition of the IATUR Annual Congress in Washington
Among all the presentations, which can now be accessed through the link to the website of the 41st IATUR Conference, highlight the interventions of Barcelona City Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya that present the future lines and the most relevant programs in time uses in our country:
Alexis Serra, director of the Office of Timetable Reform of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Fabian Mohedano, promoter of the 'Barcelona Time Use Initiative for a Healthy Society', underscored the need to promote the exchange between the use of time and public policies on an international scale and know the impact on society while expressing the will of the city of Barcelona to be the world capital of the promotion of research in public policies focused tp health, well-being, the future of work and equity across the planet.
Emilia Pallàs Zenque, Executive Director of the Department of Socio-Economic Development of Proximity of Barcelona Activa and Elisa Stinus, of the Technical Secretariat of the NUST Network (New Social Uses of Time), stressed that, according to recent studies, there is a tendency towards a reduction of the working day by a more equitable organization of time. Emilia Pallàs presented the Barcelona City Council’s Time Pact, as a city commitment to a more egalitarian, healthy and efficient organization of time. The Pact includes actions by companies on more efficient time management models for a new culture of working time. Elisa Stinus presented the Mentoring Program of the NUST Network for the exchange of knowledge about reconciling the various times of people's lives and the Guide "How to formulate a plan that promotes a healthier, more egalitarian and efficient” by organizations interested in implementing such measures.
Within the framework of the conference, the candidacy of Barcelona was approved to become the venue for the 43rd edition of the IATUR Conference of 2021, from 27 to 29 October, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of experiences and research in time use policies.
