The NUST Network at the inauguration ceremony of Barcelona as World Capital of Time Policy 2022-2023
The city of Barcelona has been elected World Capital of the time policies during the years 2022 and 2023, fact that was held the opening ceremony on Tuesday April 5 at 16h at the Salon de Cent of the City Council of Barcelona. During this event, Olga Gibert from ABD, Josep Maria Miranda from ACEFAT, Jordi Goro from AEDIPE and Montserrat Pigem from Aigües de Barcelona represented the NUST Network.
Also participating were the Councilor for Health, Aging and Care, Gemma Tarafa, the Councilor for Commerce, Markets, Internal Affairs and Finance, Montserrat Ballarín, the city manager, Sara Berbel, and the secretary of the Network of Local and Regional Governments of Time Policies, Marta Junqué. Barcelona is the first World Capital of Time Policies, an initiative that has been created for the Network of Local and Regional Governments with the aim of raising awareness and giving more visibility to time policies and extending their positive impacts on society, businesses and the planet.
With the capital, Barcelona is positioned as a world reference in time policies and will exercise leadership, in addition to acting as a spokesperson for the Network of Local and Regional Governments. The priority of the capital is also the deployment of the Barcelona Declaration on Time Policies through an action plan during the year of the Capital, with the aim of generating political consensus and making recommendations for a global and urban time policy agenda.
