How can we harmonize our work and personal schedules?
» Next November 13 at 3 p.m. the online workshop “Synchronizing Time: Equity and Welfare in Time Management from an intersectional perspective” will take place.
» The workshop seeks to generate reflections and find viable solutions that allow harmonizing individual rhythms with work expectations.
Aimed at all kinds of organizations, Barcelona City Council, as part of the Time Agreement, is organizing the virtual workshop “Synchronizing Time: Equity and Welfare in Time Management from an intersectional perspective” on November 13 at 3 p.m.
This workshop, aimed at organizations that want to promote a new culture of time, will encourage reflection and proposed solutions around synchronicity in work schedules, the use of time and inequalities, promoting improvements from a chronobiological point of view.
Therefore, the aim of this activity is that, through a mostly experiential workshop in which people are invited to reflect on the organization of a working day, they can identify proposals to temporarily solve the desynchronization.
The workshop, which will last two hours and will be offered in an online format, with an eminently practical methodology, will begin with a theoretical introduction on the concept of synchrony in work schedules and its impact on daily life, linking chronobiology with how desynchronization can generate inequality.
Next to that, an activity will be invigorated in which the different small groups will build their collective schedules in real-time and then reflect on them together.
Finally, again in small groups, improvements will be designed to the proposals presented to better synchronize schedules and reduce inequalities in the use of time, taking into account the intersectional perspective. Afterwards, there will be a final discussion on the harmonization of biological rhythms and social demands.
The workshop is an activity before the Annual Meeting of the Time Agreement, which will take place on December 3 at 4:30 p.m. at the Sants-Montjuïc District Headquarters, and which will have as its central theme how time uses impact our individual and collective health.
