The Time Agreement Steering Group meets to plan the next joint actions
>> At the meeting, the next activities promoted by the Time Agreement were shared and there was a debate about which key aspects they wanted to work on in the coming months.
The Sala Compromís de Servei Públic hosted the second meeting of the year of the Time Agreement Steering Group on October 8.
With various topics on the table, the 10 member organisations that attended the meeting, all of them from different sectors of activity, shared their impressions of the activities carried out this year and those to be developed in the coming months.
The session began with the welcome of Maria Rengel, director of Feminism and LGTBI Services of the Barcelona City Council, continuing with the balance of the collection of activities carried out during the period 2023 and 2024, in which they have held meetings of the Time Agreement driving group, training pills and the Annual Meeting of the Time Agreement, as well as participated in different forums where the Time Agreement was presented.
Afterwards, the Feminism and LGBTI Services Directorate and the Technical Secretariat of the Time Agreement presented the activities’ calendar planned for 2024-2025.
On the one hand, a new informative leaflet was presented, aimed at spreading the word about the Time Agreement and the NUST Network of Companies – Network of Companies for a New Working Time – as well as the different services of these and that will be given as complementary material in the different spaces and key participation forums in terms of time. On the other hand, the events planned around the Time Use Week that took place from October 21 to 25 were explained, with particular interest on October 23 hosting the round table “Cases of success and inspiration for the social and productive fields for a more rational organization of time” in which different companies from the Nust Network have participated, at the BIZ salon in Barcelona, a space that becomes a claim given the access to a large group of companies.
During the session, the member organizations were able to learn about the activities scheduled during this last quarter of the year which deal with the same central theme; chronobiology.
Next November 13, the Workshop: “Synchronizing Time: Equity and Well-being in Time Management from an Intersectional Perspective” is planned. A workshop in an online format that will soon open registrations, and which aims to reflect and propose solutions around synchronicity in work schedules, the use of time and inequalities, promoting improvements from a chronobiological point of view and intersectional equity.
Along these lines, a date was also set for the Annual Meeting of the Time Agreement, which will be held on December 3 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Sants District Headquarters, with its main theme being chronobiology and its impact on health and well-being.
The entities of the Time Agreement Steering Group were able to value the theme of both activities which they understand is central to better time management both in the individual and organizational sphere.
All in all, the meeting allowed the exchange of ideas and proposals around strategies to promote the Time Agreement aimed at encouraging the active participation of member entities, promoting the accession of new organizations and advancing the right to citizenship time.
The participants put on the table how the proposal to reduce the working day, the new Survey of Time Uses or the paradigm shift in the new generations around the uses of time that questions the centrality of work, place the current moment at a key moment in order to promote a healthier, more equal, efficient and sustainable organization of time in our city.
