When personal cameras entered the factories
Men worked in the metal company Macosa in Poblenou, but there were also female workers, in particular in the administration and cleaning sector, a fact largely unknown by the company. The research in the archives has revealed the more invisible aspects of work from a feminine perspective with the photos that the workers themselves have given to the Municipal Archive of the Sant Martí District.
The photographs forming part of the Elionor Serra personal collection, an old employee of Fabra i Coats in Sant Andreu, shows the everyday aspects of in the factory, such as the workers’ breaks, taking the children to the ‘Casa-Cuna’ or the football team’s matches on the Can Fabra field. These are images taken during the 1950s by people from the factory.
