The Espai Bombers is the training, dissemination and exhibition centre dedicated to safety and prevention provided by the Barcelona Fire Service.
The centre now resumes its usual weekend service, with two activities which had been cancelled due to Covid-19:
- From this Sunday, the centre’s family workshops are back, offering children between the ages of 5 and 12 the chance to learn about the history of the corps which responds to emergencies. These dynamic family sessions enable visitors to discover the exhibition space through a gymkhana, where they find a series of pieces of information and learn about the past and present of the figure of the firefighter. At the same time, the instructor will offer different cases of hazards where visitors must follow guidelines correctly to overcome them. The two-hour workshops are held every Sunday at 11.30 am.
- As from June, the first Saturday of every month also offers a chance of a guided tour. Visitors follow a route to discover the tools used in the past, how the Delahaye pump worked or how firefighters respond when they receive emergency calls. Visits start at 12 noon and last an hour.
Visitors are advised to book in advance for either of these activities by writing to espaibombers@bcn.cat or calling 932 565 434.
The maximum number of participants for each activity is currently 12.
The guided tour costs 2.5 euros, in addition to the admission price for each participant. The workshop costs 3.5 euros, in addition to the admission price for each visitor.
