Safety. The City Police and the Barcelona Fire Service are taking part in the seventh edition of Barcelona International Community Day, which takes place on Saturday, 23 October.

Saturday, 23 October, brings the seventh edition of Barcelona International Community Day, an event organised by Barcelona City Council and this year regaining an on-site format. The meeting is a leading event for the city’s foreign community to get together for professional, social and cultural purposes.

This is the first time that the City Police and the Barcelona Fire Service will have an information stand at the event, offering advice on public safety, safe mobility, risk prevention and what to do in the case of a fire.

At 3.15 pm the City Police will be giving a talk entitled “Cherish Barcelona, city of coexistence and civil behaviour”, to outline the basic rules for getting on with and respecting others in the city. The session will go over the regulations which affect public space the most, plus the latest on mobility with bikes and personal mobility vehicles. The session will be an informative presentation of the by-law on civil behaviour and its compliance.

Meeting point for the international community

The event is on at the Museu Marítim, with free admission from 10 am to 7 pm. Barcelona International Community Day has a programme of 50 activities to match the goals and experiences of newly arrived people in the city and established talent alike. A day of welcome, activities include talks, round tables, workshops for people to get established in the city, work, do business, become part of the city and enjoy it.

The event also includes a fair with 70 stands by businesses, organisations and associations offering specialised services, products or initiatives for the international community.

For some years now, October has brought this large gathering for the city’s international community to introduce them to everything the city can offer them, exchange experiences with other people and discover key city stakeholders.
