The seventh edition of the Solidarity Nautical Mile takes place this Sunday, at the Bogatell beach (next to the Nautical Base) at 10 am. Everybody is welcome to come and watch the 700 plus swimmers who have so far signed up.
The event is organised every year by the cultural and sports group from the Barcelona Fire Service and consists of a non-competitive sea crossing (no prizes for winners), where swimmers get two hours to complete whichever distance they choose: nautical half mile or one, two or three nautical miles.
The registration period is open until Sunday and in person at the Nautical Base itself (where the competition will be held). The cost is 15 euros, with the full amount going to the NGO Mirada Neta. Around 11,000 euros has been raised so far.
The rules for taking part are available here.
