Collections of food and basic products at fourteen libraries for those affected by the floods

Fourteen municipal libraries around the city’s ten districts are working in coordination with the Food Bank to offer collection points for basic foods and essential products, to send to the areas affected by the flooding in Valencia. Donations can be made from Monday, 4 November, to Friday, 8 November, during the libraries’ usual opening hours.

The priority products being collected at these points must be packaged and are:

  • Milk
    Conserves and pre-cooked foods (pulses, meat, fish, etc.)
    Children’s food (porridge, powdered milk, jars of purée, etc.)
    Nappies for babies
    Women’s hygiene products

The Food Bank (Banc dels Aliments), in coordination with the Food Bank in Valencia, will be managing the shipments to areas affected by the flooding, according to the priorities at any given moment and the evolution of the emergency.

Besides the donation points, the most effective donation continues to be monetary, by bank transfer to the Banc dels Aliments de València (ES86 2100 2806 6402 0009 8998) or by Bizum to the number 38400 (subject: donation).

Mercabarna is also joining the initiatives by Barcelona City Council to provide support for those affected, offering economic aid to the Food Bank in Valencia. Companies are also organising shipments of fresh food where needs are identified.
