The most effective way is to donate money to organisations working in the areas affected by the floods: Creu Roja, Càritas and Banc dels Aliments. Over 77 tonnes of basic products and food have been collected since 4 November and will be sent to the affected towns in coordination with the Banc dels Aliments in Valencia (food bank).
Donating money is the most effective way to help out. Donations can be made to the NGOs working on the ground:
- Banc dels Aliments de València: Bizum to the number 38400 or bank transfer to ES86 2100 2806 6402 0009 8998 (subject: donation).
- Creu Roja: Bizum: 33512, donation to ES44 0049 0001 5321 1002 2225 and other channels.
- Càritas: Bizum: 00089 or bank transfer to ES4500491892642110553738 or ES5400810216700002187226.
You can also collaborate with local organisations such as the Federació d’Ateneus and the Casa València, which will forward aid to the Fundació Horta Sud.
Donation of basic products
Over 77 tonnes of basic products and food basic foods and essential products have been gathered since 4 November at the collection points set up around fourteen municipal libraries around the city’s ten districts. The Banc d’Aliments in Barcelona will store the material collected and forward it to the Banc d’Aliments in Valencia according to how the emergency evolves.
The way the public has responded to the crisis has been exemplary and the food banks in both Barcelona and Valencia, as well as municipal facilities, have expressed their gratitude for the solidarity of everybody who has taken items to collection points.
Volunteers
Anybody wishing to volunteer to help with cleaning work is advised to do so in coordination with the teams working on the ground. The Valencian government has activated this website.
