Safety and prevention. The internal promotion process concludes after a four-month instruction stage and a subsequent placement stage.

A ceremony was held in the Saló de Cent at the City Hall on Thursday, 6 June, awarding the new stripes to the corporals.

The corporals have now been definitively named, concluding the internal promotion process. They undertook a four-month instruction stage at the Institute for Public Security of Catalonia (ISPC), followed by a placement stage where they developed their new command positions within the corps.

The Civil Protection, Prevention, Fire Extinction and Rescue Service currently has some seventy corporals among an overall workforce of more than 700 workers. They are responsible for services such as firefighting in public streets and squares, rescuing people or animals, burst water pipes and the identification of problems in buildings. They have between four and nine firefighters under their command and have a role of responsibility and commitment to the organisation and to the city.

This boost to the command structure of the corps is aimed at improving the service offered to the general public by the Barcelona Fire Service. Here you can see the structure of the corps and the entrance requisites.
