The Guàrdia Urbana police and Bombers de Barcelona fire fighters are taking part once again, a year on, at the Employment Fair being held this Wednesday and Thursday, 9 and 10 November, at Montjuïc’s Fira de Barcelona, to explain at first-hand how to join the city’s security and emergency forces, their selection processes, stages and requirements.
Based in their own booth, Guàrdia Urbana [city police] and Bombers de Barcelona [Fire Brigade] officers will be helping anyone interested in focusing their professional development, whether for joining one of the forces as their first career or for redirecting their careers towards a citizen service and protection vocation required for their work.
Both forces are offering places for permanent employment with future promotion possibilities regardless of gender or background, as well as a wide range of employment opportunities. In addition, Guàrdia Urbana and Bombers de Barcelona officers will be participating in a round table on Thursday, from 10 am to 11.15 am, during which they will be taking a deep look at what their respective professions are like for their officers. It Will be a space for discovering new talent and the employment opportunities on offer in both the forces. The Saló de l’Ocupació [Employment Fair] is back another year, consolidating itself as a get-together with one of the fullest and most extensive offers in the country for people keen to change their professional direction or looking for work. This year’s edition will be offering over a hundred activities, including personalized advice, work demonstrations, an escape room for winning a selection process, job hunting through TikTok and talks for discovering the professions of the future.
