The Barcelona Fire Service will be explaining how to avoid household fires on 24 March, from 10 am to 1 pm, and what to do if one breaks out.

The Barcelona Fire Service rounds off its series of fire prevention visits around city markets.

The Barcelona Fire Service will be at the Mercat de la Mercè (Nou Barris) on Friday, 24 March, for the concluding visit in the series of fire prevention sessions which started in January.

The visit is one of the measures to promote prevention which the city’s firefighting corps are carrying out periodically to engage with the public directly and enable people to learn how to avoid fires in the home and what to do if one breaks out.

The visit is from 10 am to 1 pm and will feature Prevenim!, the education vehicle which features the most common equipment used for firefighting and rescue, as well as screens for showing videos with advice on self-protection and the prevention of household fires.

After the seven markets of Abaceria, Poblenou, Hostafrancs, Lesseps, Horta, Sarrià and Tres Torres, the Mercat de la Mercè completes the cycle of market visits.

Remember that besides the advice offered by the fire service, in any situation where there is a risk of fire call the 112 emergency phone number.
